Description: Sprague is looking for an A/P Associate to join our accounting team.
This position requires and experienced AP person performing accounting functions which require the application of experience/education to process complicated or non-repetitive accounting transactions, selecting among a substantial variety of prescribed accounting codes and classifications, or tracing transactions through previous accounting actions to determine source of discrepancies. Assist AP Supervisor in problem resolution and backup during times of absence or unavailability.
Duties:
Utilizing a thorough knowledge of the AP system/processes, provide leadership and training guidance to all AP Associate I employees
In a timely manner review, code, process and file accounts payable invoices.
Prepare month-end journal entries for accounts payable
Prepare month-end accounts payable account reconciliations as appropriate
Process wire transfers and netouts
Reporting of Form W9 and 1099 information
Research and resolve accounts payable invoice problems
Recommend improvements to current accounts payable procedures
Possess a desire to accept new challenges as they arise
Maintain a consistent high quality work level
Qualifications:
3-4 Years accounting experience required, preferably including Accounts Payable experience
Post secondary education preferred
Good computer literacy financial package software experience required.
Experience with Microsoft Excel to intermediate level essential and MS Word helpful
Must be detail oriented
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment and work professionally with customers, vendors and employees
Excellent communication skills
