Job Description:
This position follows clearly detailed specific procedures in completing several repetitive clerical steps performed in a prescribed or slightly varied sequence, such as coding and filing documents in an extensive alphabetical file; could involve simple posting to individual accounts, opening mail, calculating and posting charges to departmental accounts, operating basic office equipment, e.g., photocopier, facsimile, multi-line phone/voicemail systems, mailing machines, and minimal computer programs. Little or no subject-matter knowledge is required, but the clerk uses his or her own judgment in choosing the proper procedure for each task. Summary of duties

Responsible for assisting Team Leaders and Unit Managers in other clerical functions.
Performs Quality Control functions.
Performs other duties required to meet Serco, NVC operations and Department of State objectives.
Note: This position supports a Department of State contract in a government facility and is subject to a government security investigation.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Responsible for receiving, sorting, opening, organizing, date stamping as appropriate, and delivering incoming mail and cases; identifying and sorting mail, petitions and files; wanding in petitions, creating and labeling case folders; filing; delivering routing sheets/file requests to the appropriate units; requesting/receiving files from other units and delivering them to the appropriate units; preparing, logging, and delivering cables; logging petitions; processing Freedom of Information Act requests; performing initial entry Money Tracking and receipt of Agent of Choice Letters; researching cases; receiving and stocking supplies; and reporting daily work-in-process.
Responsible for printing and packing various letters, packets, and supplements; operating letter insertion and postage equipment; weighing, labeling; pulling and packing out-going case files; preparing and entering associated data in systems for out-going mail and packages; operating copiers and shredders; maintaining the integrity of the files within process units and file storage; shifting files; QC of file shelves; scanning; putting case files in document order; working on various projects as needed; demonstrating work ethic; and, performing other tasks as assigned by the Unit Manager.
Minimum qualifications
High School Diploma or a GED.
One (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience.
Experience in an office/clerical environment is desired
Basic Computer Skills.
Good Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
Good attention to detail while working in a fast paced environment.
Capable of working in a multi-task environment with rapidly changing priorities.
Very good command of the English Language.
Demonstrate a professional work ethic.

Experience:
Work is generally performed in a normal office environment where there is minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Job assignments may require working at client site where working conditions may vary.
