As an Associate Receivables Analyst , you will perform billing and collection activities such as: preparing specialized billing exhibits, manual statement of accounts, account reconciliations, and collect outstanding balances by analyzing system output and monitoring customer payments. You will interact with internal and external customers to resolve account disputes. In addition, you will service customers, brokers and/or sales representatives through preparation, analysis and reconciliation of basic financial documents and reports.
Responsibilities:
Initiate billing plans using the customer''s plan and rate structure, payment mechanisms, premium information, and eligibility information
Prepare billing invoices and supporting documentation for assigned accounts based on the requirements and billing cycles; ensure billing information is accurate, complete, and delivered on time; follow up with Sales and Underwriting Units for timely billing instructions as evidenced by preliminary management report results.
Initiate the collection processes for each account, such as the electronic draw from the customer bank account or monthly draw from collateral account (pre-funding cash collateral payment plan)
Perform various accounting functions, including invoicing, analyzing customer payments, and managing the book and receivable account in an automated customer accounting system
Resolve billing and collection questions and disputes by analyzing financial information, work with internal departments to resolve premium booking discrepancies, negotiate extension of credit, etc; partner with market stakeholders to ensure the availability and integrity of all financial information to customers; create exhibits to support and summarize relevant account information
Reconcile balances to reflect activity (e.g., earned premium, loss expenses, vendor charges or rating adjustments), including loss sensitive plans, bank statements, and retrospective rating adjustments
Manage activities including negotiating, issuance of non-pay cancellations, and referring accounts to in-house attorney units.
Suggest changes and identify opportunities for improvement. May participate in the implementation of new processes, procedures and strategies that enhance SBU''s cost effectiveness and efficiency as a service provider.
Deliver prompt and professional service to both internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
0-2 years of professional experience
Bachelor''s degree with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA; additional requirements may apply
Major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Management preferred
Must demonstrate analytical skills, critical thinking, negotiation skills, and financial acumen
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing high quality customer service
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Well-organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple, concurrent objectives and activities
Understanding of insurance industry, GAAP accounting, state regulatory environments, rating plans as well as billing, collection, audit and booking processes is highly desired

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
