The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, enhancing and maintaining the infrastructure required to support application development and deployment, providing a highly available and stable environment. The Network Engineer will contribute to the overall engineering, design, build, and high-level support of existing and new infrastructure components.
This role will ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services, hosted systems, and cloud environments. In addition, the Network Engineer will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.
The Network Engineer with also operate and performance-tune storage platforms across the organization to ensure high levels of data quality, availability, and security. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure storage provisioning, efficiency, and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. _ _
_So here is what you'd be doing:_
Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
Design and deploy Virtual server, public and private cloud, and SAN infrastructures
Work with systems and database administrators to implement storage architectures that utilize industry best practices including Information Lifecycle Management, Hierarchical Storage Management
Implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of storage appliances and stored data assets.
Develop and maintain on-demand and nightly builds with the Build and Infrastructure team - review build results, debug and optimize complex builds, and discuss technical issues with developers, architects, and managers.
Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Anticipate, mitigate, identify, respond to, and resolve issues with storage devices, storage access, and data retrieval.
Research and make recommendations on storage products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.

What experience do you need to have?
University degree in computer science or electrical engineering and/or 4 years equivalent work experience.
Certifications in CCNA, MCP, MCSE, MCSA, MCTS preferred
Demonstrated experience in scripting, software-build processes, and system configuration.
Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Google, Rackspace)
Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
Hands-on Fiber Channel SAN/NAS/DAS troubleshooting experience.
