Requirements/Responsibilities
UNIX systems administration and support
Scripting experience (Korn, Born, Powershell, Perl, Python etc.)
Must have a solid understanding of software requirements, architecture, software development, testing, operations, maintenance, configuration management, knowledge management, information assurance and various versions of LINUX/UNIX operating systems.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills; Training other professional peers, and working closely with management
Bladelogic experience (preferred)
Solid understanding of Configuration Management practices & procedures.
Experience with Apache, & Tomcat deployed on multiple operating systems Linux, Unix, Windows Server
Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes
A solid understanding of operating systems; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what device drivers do, filesystem concepts (inode, clustering, logical partitions), can use performance analysis to tune systems. Virtual machine products and concepts
A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understands principles of routing, client/server programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts.
An understanding of files systems, to include Directory Servers and Oracle Databases is highly desired.
Ability to program in an administrative language (Bash, Python/Perl, Korn, PowerShell) and to write scripts.
Must have excellent documentation skills
Work with management and team leads to solve production problems that may arise. Good problem solving skills to quickly and effectively resolve system problems.
Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
