Liberty Mutual Global Specialty IT, Architecture is actively searching for a Sharepoint Technologist. Global Specialty IT provides support and operations for all global specialty lines including Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), Liberty Mutual Surety (LMS), and A&H (Accident and Health) across 19 countries, through one unified IT team. In this position, you provide strong technical leadership in design, development and implementation of global SharePoint solutions for collaboration as well as content management.
Responsible for the implementation of technology by developing clear, comprehensive and integrated system, technical and/or product recommendations which support business plans and long term strategy. Reviews and provides input to architectural designs to ensure consistency, maintainability and flexibility. Analyzes highly complex system and technical issues to implement technologies that align with strategic technical direction. Plans and manages execution of architecture migrations May leads projects or subprojects of strategic impact.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing and leading development of robust, high performing, scalable solutions on SharePoint 2010/2013 while addressing a global customer/user base.
Serve as the technical lead on the flagship project to convert to SharePoint 2013 with a broad set of capabilities in collaboration as well as document management. Work closely with the GS IT architecture group to recommend solution designs that meet business objectives and can support global, secure, high performance needs.
Acts as solution engineer responsible for the implementation of approved technologies that align with technical architecture, business plans and long term strategy.
Makes recommendations to improve process efficiency and effectiveness; Provides input to major architectural designs to ensure consistency, security, maintainability and flexibility with respect to overall system, technical and product architectures within a domain or portfolio.
Participates during incident management events and provides input on resolutions.
Contributes toward forecasts of business and IT trends to define the technical direction within a portfolio, project or the GS market.
Guides the development of system, technical and product standards based on business plan and vision. In coordination with Architecture, researches and makes recommendations around new technologies
Plans and manages execution of architecture migrations. Maintains strategic partnerships between vendors, business partners, and IT.
Delivers artifacts, technical alternative documents and architectural designs that meet business requirements . Oversees design reviews and frameworks.
Contributes to decisions that impact profitability and operational effectiveness.
Mentors staff to develop software systems development capabilities.
Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:

Generally a minimum of 10 years related experience. In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies

10 years of SharePoint design/development experience, at least 4 of those in a lead role, overseeing group of designers/developers; must have experience with SP 2010 as well as SP 2013 desirable (core areas of administration, information architecture, classification, custom development, governance, retention, search, social, site collections, support, migration and usability)

Experience in building intranet portals and collaboration solutions using SharePoint and developing web parts

5 years in a variety of related technologies including .NET framework, , C#, SQL Server, IIS, Windows Server, Active Directory and web development (HTML, DHTML, CSS etc.)

Some level of experience in SOAP, REST, XML, WSDL

Experience using MS Visual Studio/Team Foundation Server

Hands on experience working on component based applications in a distributed environment

Experience in architecting and implementing / writing code related to SharePoint based Search solutions

Experienced in global, geographic considerations related to high performing SharePoint installations and ability to work closely with infrastructure and network groups to ensure optimal performance for remote users.

Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience; technical Master''s degree preferred.

In-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.

Knowledgeable in software engineering languages and tools; proficient in new and emerging technologies.

In-depth understanding of layered solutions and designs; in-depth understanding of shared software concepts and requirements.

In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies; in-depth understanding of global business and technology trends and the insurance and financial services industry.

Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills. Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
