A leading manufacturing company is looking to hire a Project Manager for a 1 year contract opportunity. Under general direction from the Director, Global Initiatives the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management from charter to implementation.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible to drive all aspects of a given project, from the charter and requirement gathering phase through to implementation.
Creates a vision of the project's success that drives the project following its initiation. Assists with the definition and management of project success/delivery criteria.
Engages in direct observation of knowledge workers to uncover unarticulated needs and transformational innovation opportunities.
Assesses, and develop as need, as is business processes and flows and facilitates and documents the development of to be processes and flows.
Elicits, verifies and documents requirements individually and collectively against a standard set of established criteria throughout the program lifecycle.
Defines, coordinates and manages the securing of cross-functional resource commitment, external providers, budget, and schedule.
Creates and maintains a detailed Microsoft Project plan ensuring the critical path outlined.
Leads cross-functional multi-disciplinary virtual teams, fostering teamwork resulting in positive outcomes; is the focal point for change management and escalation resolution.
Tracks project activity and expenditures against plans and develops and manages project status documentation and communication on a weekly/monthly basis. Communicates progress, issues, and status to all key teams.
Provides steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, rapid change, and aggressive deadlines.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required with 5-7 years' experience in the consumer goods, wholesale industry with a minimum of 6 years of project management or 4 years of program management experience.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and MS Project a must; project portfolio management tools and experience desired.
Experience solving complex cross organizational issues, including the development of recommendations to senior management.
Experience leading large scale, cross functional global projects, with multi geographic deployments and budgets exceeding $1M - $6M.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills with the proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
Exceptional facilitation, negotiation and influential skills - requires the ability to lead large cross-functional/global groups to reach consensus on a conclusion or decision.
Ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives under minimal supervision.
