Liberty Mutual Enterprise Technology Services is actively searching for an IT Project Lead. Enterprise Technology Services is a shared technology service within Liberty Mutual Information Technology. ETS develops roadmaps and drives future technology direction while building and introducing new technology capabilities. ETS projects generally encompass providing enterprise class solutions and often have participation from Central IT teams and cross Market IT implications. In this position, you will be part of the IT Business Systems Management team. The team is primarily responsible for development and maintenance of the Clarity application used for IT Portfolio, Resource, and Financial management, working across IT with all markets, Central IT, IT Finance, and IT HR.
Job
Responsibilities:
With client management, defines the objectives to be accomplished by the project team.
Directs systems analysts, software designers and programmers to determine the best methods to achieve the projects objectives.
Allocates staff and budget resources required to achieve project objectives.
Organizes and guides project operations through the use of systems development and project management methodologies accepted by the industry.
Evaluates and reports progress in terms of quality and performance metrics common to IT projects.
Works with client departments to coordinate systems testing, installation, training and support.
Uses appropriate systems development methodologies to structure and organize the tasks to be completed by the team. Develops the project plan in conjunction with the team.
Monitors and reports project status using established metrics against the plan.
Reviews the team's work products.
May provide coaching and mentoring to project team members.
Keeps informed of advances in technology and Project Management.
Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
Job Results:
Quality deliverables that meet customer's expectations.
Product is delivered on time and meets both internal and customer specifications.
Ensures team delivers accurate and complete project documentation as defined by Liberty Mutual standards.
Ensures team adheres to Liberty's standard technology and processes.
Project provides for increased efficiencies or value to Liberty Mutual overall.
Project provides participants with an increased technical knowledge and skill set.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least four, typically six or more years of related experience as a project team member of which at least one year was in a leadership position, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Understanding of team leadership, business practices and their application to effective project management.
Strong analytical, communication and technical skills.
Able to foster working relationships with the team and client departments.
2 years' exposure to Clarity and its project management function.
Nice to have:
Technical skills in database tools (e.g., TOAD, Access, BI Reporting tools, SQL)
PMP certification
Exposure/familiarity with agile/scrum methodology
