General Description:
The Business Intelligence Analyst works with the Financial Planning and Business Analysis team to develop reporting and processes that support strategic decision making. The Analyst will support senior management by structuring the company's data to allow users the ability to rapidly access reliable data that is required to make business decisions and develop reporting for third parties. The position will assist the company in standardizing data and reporting across the company by expanding and maintaining the company's Microsoft SSAS (OLAP) cube. The Analyst will leverage front end BI tools (e.g. Tableau) to create reporting and presentations required by management. In addition, the Analyst will flag data quality issues and suggest solutions to management to allow for more consistent and accurate reporting.
So here is what you'd be doing:
Development of the company's OLAP database server and Excel or other BI tool interfaces
Utilize SQL Server to deliver ad hoc data requests
Gather business requirements related to reporting and analysis and package to allow the IT department to execute on.
Suggest process improvements and validations that help to improve the underlying quality of the company's data.
Complete ad hoc requests for management
Assist with specific finance related projects
What skills do you need for this role?
Comprehensive understanding of MS SQL Server, preferably both Management Studio and Business Intelligence Development Studio
Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, preferably with PivotTables and/or OLAP interfaces such as Microsoft SSAS, Hyperion Essbase, SAP, etc.
Ability to manage ad hoc project work in a fast paced environment
Basic understanding of financial statements a plus
What experience do you need to have?
Bachelor's in Information Technology
Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years' experience in a similar role
