Position
Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for efficient production of slides/specialty glass products in a manufacturing environment. This position interfaces with other areas of management within the company.
Key
Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and a high level of safety awareness among associates. Maintains excellent housekeeping practices through 5S implementation with appropriate audits.
Responsible for leading sustainable continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN tools focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity.
Provides leadership direction to cell leaders and team members of designated Product Value Stream. Works closely and builds rapport with personnel across a variety of departments and functions within the facility and with external customers.
Listens, supports, engages and encourages employee suggestions and input to achieve excellent results. Mentors direct reports to improve their leadership skill sets and overall effectiveness. Assist and support other team members as required.
Provide the training and guidance necessary to enable the employees to improve their own abilities and skill levels.
Document standard work/SOPs and provide continuous feedback to team members to assure all are adhering to procedures and striving for continuous improvement and alignment with the objectives.
Provide guidance, direction and leadership for the areas of supervision to ensure that products are manufactured with the highest level of quality in a safe and timely manner that will meet or exceed our customer's expectation.
Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, scheduling and organizing work assignments within the company policies and procedures.
Maintain associates files in the areas of attendance, productivity, and quality and provide regular reviews and counseling where required.

Leads day-to-day activities to ensure swift and accurate completion of customer orders.
Ensure all manufacturing orders are followed through to a completed status with accuracy and variance review as it pertains to their department and in accordance with all engineering specifications.
Develop, generate, review and present various work/management reports to accurately measure department production and make recommendations for better business results.
Maintains positive employee relations through the use of proficient and open communication skills.
Efficiently coaches, guides and manage employee relation concerns and semi/annual performance processes to deliver optimal business results.
Flexibility for cross-training company-wide.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Manufacturing environment subject to dust, heat and noise conditions. Standing for extended periods of time, including bending and twisting. Lifting up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Requirements/
Qualifications:
Possesses extreme motivation for a continuous improvement mindset and desire to improve all aspects of the Value Stream. Six Sigma Green Belt Certification strongly preferred.
Has some knowledge, training or experience in Lean manufacturing.
Very knowledgeable regarding the material planning processes and information flows in the designated Value Stream. Also possesses knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques.
Knowledgeable in data collection, measuring, analysis, improvement and control.
Must be able to manage and lead change.
Ability to conduct critical analysis and assessments to develop strategic action plans that ensure efficient, lean, and effective processes are in place to produce quality products.
Ability to lead, and deliver results, in a team based manufacturing environment and make fact based decisions with minimal supervision
Demonstrate strong business acumen, organizational and analytical skills
Effective employee management skills including dealing with difficult employee situations and providing constructive feedback. Ability to coach, counsel and encourage subordinates.
ISO 9000, ISO13485, FDA experience is preferred.
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
Minimum of 6-8 years of demonstrated leadership skills in a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor's degree or some college education plus equivalent work experience may substitute.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, database and internet based programs); JD Edwards (Oracle) a plus.
Knowledge, training, and/or experience in Lean Manufacturing
Experienced in successfully driving Continuous Improvement.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
